Principal Strategic Lead – Pacific Women and Girls (Suva)
Mereseini Rakuita is a visionary champion of gender equality and women’s rights in Fiji and the Asia-Pacific region. As SPC’s Principal Strategic Lead – Pacific Women and Girls she is driving gender equality and empowerment of girls across the Pacific region, working as part of SPC’s executive team.
A qualified lawyer, Mereseini was the youngest female politician to be elected to Fiji’s parliament. The former State Solicitor was elected to parliament in 2014 and became the first female Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources. Prior to politics, as State Solicitor, she was the highest-ranking female legal advisor to the government.
