Did you know that the Pacific Ocean is generally less salty than the Atlantic?
On average there are about 7 teaspoons of salt per litre of ocean water. But thanks to evaporation, the ocean water is not as salty everywhere. This is the result of numerous factors, including rainfall, wind, and the presence of freshwater (from surface or glaciers).
