Pacific Data Hub Talanoa: The Power of Data Visualisation

Location
New Caledonia
Online

The second Pacific Data Community of Practice Talanoa Session for 2022 is themed “The Power of Data Visualisation” and will explore the crucial role data visualisation plays in our everyday lives.

We invite you join us for a Pacific Talanoa* on the role of dataviz (free event)

In recent years, the value of data visualisation has been brought to the forefront during the COVID-19 pandemic. Neverhas such an enormous amount of data been collected globally on a single pathogen–from case and death data to vaccine test data to economic impacts. Dataviz appeared everywhere –with the single purpose of communicating information related to the pandemic.

Five invited speakers will present different angles of data visualisation from how the brain visualises data to best practices when making a data visualisation. These short presentations will be followed by an open dialogue for attendees to share experiences and challenges relating to visualising data in the Pacific.

Interpretation available in English and French.
