Noumea

Our stat of the week marks World Diabetes Day.

In Kiribati, 44% of adults are expected to die prematurely from noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) like cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, or chronic respiratory conditions.

This alarming figure highlights the urgent need for stronger prevention, early detection, and access to care across the Pacific. This World Diabetes Day (14 November), let’s raise awareness of the growing impact of diabetes and other NCDs, and work together towards a healthier Pacific future.
