Regional Director, Melanesia (Port Vila)

Mia Rimon holds a Master's degree in Public Policy & Management/Gender Studies from Flinders University, Australia. She has been part of the Pacific Community (SPC) since 2007, currently serving as the Regional Director Melanesia. Her previous roles at SPC include Manager of the Solomon Islands Country Office (2010-2015) and Regional Project Coordinator for Socio-Cultural Research on Gender-Based Violence and Child Abuse (2007-2010).

 

Mia has lived in the Pacific since 1995, working in various capacities across multiple SPC Member States. Prior to her time in the Pacific, she served as the Refugee Camp Manager in Hong Kong for UNHCR and was involved in Indo-Chinese Refugee Processing in Bangkok, Thailand for the US Government.
