Des subventions culturelles pour le programme Afrique, Caraïbes et Pacifique - Union européenne accordées à six organisations aux Fidji et en Papouasie-Nouvelle-Guinée

The Pacific Community (SPC) is pleased to announce the second round of recipients of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) - European Union (EU) Enhancing the Capacity of Cultural and Creative Industries in the Pacific Grant Scheme.

 

A total of EUR387,940 will be dispersed for the implementation of seven projects in Fiji and Papua New Guinea.

A small grant has been awarded to Motiv8 Productions Fiji which aims to support the Rotuma Project, documenting cultural heritage, and Tabs Investment Fiji to produce Ukuleles from Mahogany offcuts. 

There are also four medium grants awarded and include the following recipients:

  • Film Fiji projects focus on a Producers Accelerator programme and a Script Development programme;
  • iTaukei Trust Fund will work with cultural and creative producers on Rotuma island on skills transfer and  income-generating activities;
  • Papua New Guinea Highlands Adventures aims to establish a training programme for cultural producers and creative practitioners;

Save Papua New Guinea was awarded a large grant for its project Revitalizing Bilas: Using peer education, digital literacy training and Information and Communications Technology innovations to empower youth in traditional arts and cultural resilience throughout rural and remote areas of Papua New Guinea.

The ACP-EU Cultural and Creative Industries Grant Scheme is a three-year initiative made possible with the financial contribution of the European Union and support of the Secretariat of the Organization of Africa, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS). The grant scheme is jointly implemented by the Pacific Community (SPC) and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and is open to the 15 Pacific-ACP member countries including Timor Leste.

The third call for proposals closed on November 11, 2022, and recipients will be announced in 2023.
