There was a 6.4% reduction in the age-standardised prevalence of tobacco use among men and women in Nauru between 2015 and 2020. This is a significant progression for our own health and the health of our loved ones.
The tobacco epidemic is one of the biggest public health threats the world has ever faced, killing more than 8 million people a year, including around 1.2 million deaths from exposure to second-hand smoke (WHO).
