Sub-Regional Collaboration & Learning Event on School Leadership

Location
Online - Part I

This sub-regional training aims to help national education systems better manage and support school leaders. This includes training in the designing of national leadership competency frameworks and prototypes of appraisal and assessment systems. A key focus of the learning event is the development of a database called the Strategy for Monitoring and Improving Leadership Effectiveness (SMILE).  The learning event will walk participants through SMILE's capabilities, one of which is the ability to customise reporting profiles to meet the data needs of a national system's various stakeholders.

Education officers of Nauru, Niue, Tokelau, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu will take part in the training. Aside from being an opportunity to learn from each other's experiences, the education officers will also be assisted to develop an action plan to improve an area or specific issue of their respective school leadership systems.

The learning event is organised over five days, but in two parts. The first three days will begin on October 27. After a brief break, the training will resume on November 2 for the remaining two days.
