Pacific Islands Pest List Database (PLD) Country Administrators Workshop and Training

A key regional event that will bring together all the Country Pest List Database (PLD) Administrators from
the Melanesian and Polynesian Sub-regions to be upskilled and informed about the PLD upgrades. The Pacific Islands PLD stores records of pests that are currently known to affect agriculture, forestry and the environment in Pacific Island countries and territories (PICTs). 

The event is funded by the European Union through the Safe Agricultural Trade Facilitation through Economic Integration in the Pacific (SAFE Pacific) project and supported by the Australia Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) and the NZ Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI).

It
will allow consulting firm, ACTON Fiji Pte Ltd, to demonstrate the upgrade
works undertaken and new functionalities of the upgraded PLD; provide an opportunity for the Country PLD Administrators to become familiar and well-versed with the upgraded PLD and be able to input country data; allow for
information exchange and networking amongst Country PLD Administrators in order
to facilitate knowledge sharing and problem-solving; gather feedback for
maintenance, any troubleshooting and sustainability of the PLD.
