Pacific Assessment for Lower Secondary – PNG Field Trial

​The Pacific Assessment for Lower Secondary (PALS) has completed country consultations and two pilot assessments in 2023 and 2024, focusing on Year 9 Reading and Writing, Numeracy, and Science. In 2025, the Science component will undergo a field trial across eight countries, involving 20 schools in total.

Data from the Science Field Trial will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of each test item and to refine the administration process, particularly for the practical component of the Science assessment.
