Transforming and building resilient food systems- Melanesia sub-regional workshop convenes in Port Villa, Vanuatu

This three-day workshop will:

  • Bring together the SPC Melanesia members from Government, private sector and civil society to discuss what food systems is and what it means for these stakeholders;
  • To give the participants the space to discuss areas for collaboration in “food systems” in their countries and territories as well as sub-regionally so that SPC’s support to countries and territories are intentional and take a systems approach
  • To consider how to continue to advocate and socialise what food systems and its thinking is across the Melanesia sub region.

Food systems refer to the interconnected activities involved in the production, processing, distribution, and consumption of food; as well as their effects, which include economic, health, culture, and environmental outcomes.
