Meet June Brian, a dedicated mother from the northern part of Vanuatu. In her community, fishing is not just a livelihood—it's an essential part of food security and daily life. Fishing plays a central role in village gatherings and family events, with groups often heading out for night fishing to prepare for the next day's celebrations. June believes that incorporating aquaculture program into community-based fisheries management (CBFM) activities could provide local communities with alternative solutions and may help to relieve pressure on coastal marine resources and reduce reliance on spearfishing.
