The Qoli Vakamatau talanoa hosted in 26th October 2022 focused on the sustainable management of Mud Crabs, and joining us on the show to share about the experiences in her community is Tarusila Veibi. Taru is an advocate for the Fiji Locally Managed Marine Network and has extensive experience working with women to help improve mud crab management. On the show she shares her tips to get bigger catches using fattening cages, the importance of maintaining mangroves as the habitat for mud crabs and that mud crabs need to reach 12.5cm before they can breed.
